July 26, 1929 — May 18, 2021

Barbara Chandler Glover, age 91, of Clermont died on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.  A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 24, 2021, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Clermont, Ga.  Reverend Jeremy Noffsinger will officiate the service.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 23, 2021, from 6:00 pm to 8: 00 pm, and on Monday, May 24, 2021, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.  Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Gainesville, Ga. following the service.

Barbara was born in Clermont, Georgia on July 26, 1929. She was an educator at Clermont Elementary School (later, Wauka Mountain Elementary School) where she worked in Kindergarten for many, many years and was loved and treasured by the staff and students there. Many times, she was overheard saying, “We had them in Kindergarten”. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was the organist for over 60 years and was a valuable member of the United Methodist Womens’ Group. Barbara was also an active member of the Clermont Historical Society. Clermont had always been her home and she took great pride in her little town. Barbara was a talented “crafter”, creating many items for Trinity's Annual Christmas Bazaar for almost thirty years including her much sought after Santa Claus’. Barbara’s other God-given gift was her incredible cooking and baking where Sunday lunch after church at her house was highly anticipated each week and her Chocolate Pound Cakes would always bring well over $100 at each church auction.  But Barbara’s favorite days were spent cheering on her children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren at sporting events near and far.  She loved sports, and her family, so those times were the most precious pastimes for her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Hamby Glover, her father and mother, Clarence V. Chandler and Mae Gailey Chandler, her older brother, Harold (Martha) Chandler, niece Kathy Chandler Brackett.  Brother-in-law Reece “Dole” Glover (Emelyn) and nephew Jerry Glover.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Gary Glover (Carolyn), Larry Glover (Judy), and her daughter Lynn Lammers, (Pete).  She is survived by her grandchildren, Scott Glover (Jennifer), Chris Glover (Stefanie), Corey Glover (Angie), Chan Glover (Necia), Erin Stark (Ted), Jillian Georgiou (Evan), 15 great-grandchildren, and her beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins from the Gailey and Chandler families.

A special thank you as well to her caregivers in recent years at the Gardens of Gainesville and the staff at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Hospice.
