Peggy Bailey Wood

Peggy Bailey Wood, age 82, of Gainesville went to be with Jesus on Sunday August 31, 2014. Mrs. Wood was born in Athens GA where she lived most of her life. She retired from Wayne Edward Pharmacy. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Wood and niece Jamie Evans. She is survived by her sister Lucy Lester and her husband Tolbert N. Lester Jr.  Nieces and spouses: Terri and John Campbell, Connie and Terry Evans, Sandra and Jim Tuthill, Kelly and Vance Kelly.  9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. Step-children: John H and Carol Wood, Rosemary Wood, Glenda and Marvin Johnson, from the Athens area. 7 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. 

"Aunt Peggy" as many knew her, loved her flowers and plants, visiting with friends, and being with her family. 

Family will receive friends at Strickland Funeral Home, 260 Main Street Clermont, GA, 770-983-7351 Monday, Sept 1 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Graveside services will be at Evergreen Memorial Park 3655 Atlanta Highway, Athens, GA 30606 Tuesday, Sept 2 at 2:00 pm.
